Water System
We have a water softner installed and a reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink. The small spikot on the left side of the kitchen sink is purified water.
Food
We don’t have our cleaning service remove every scrap of food, condiments, dry goods, etc., since we no longer rent the condo. You will likely find spices, condiments as well as dry goods, frozen food, etc. Help yourself to any jof the items but please replace what you consume. You assume responsibility for any/all food you consume so, IF IN DOUBT – THROW IT OUT! Please throw out any opened or leftover meals before you leave.
BBQ
A gas BBQ is on the front deck. If the gas runs out you can get a replacement (swap-out) bottle at the Fresh Market grocery store – open 24/7. There is also a Traeger pellet smoker on the back deck. Please wipe down the grill after use.
Powered Blinds
There are automatic blinds in the kitchen, 3 in the den and 1 in the master bedroom. Each area is controlled by a small white remote. The one for the kitchen should be at the end of the counter left of the sink. The remote for the den is located to the right of the fireplace and controlls all 3 panels. The one for the master should be on the nightstand nearest the slider. PLEASE replace the remotes where they belong, they are easily misplaced and we don’t have spares.
WiFi
High speed internet is provided. The name of the network is “DesertDreamin”. The password will be provided with the door lock code and hot tub lock combination. There is a wifi enabled printer in the guest bedroom.
Hot Tub
There is a hot tub on the back deck. We will provide the combination to the lock before your stay. If you intend to use it, check the temperature on arrival as we generally set it to 85 when not in use. We recomment 102 or so. The first two buttons control the temp (up/down), the third controls the jets (4 settings) and the last button is for the light. The hot tub will occasionally turn on for freeze protection in the winter. Please turn the temperature down and lock the hot tub before you depart.
Towels for the hot tub are in a drawer at the foot of the guest bed. Please wash seperatly.
Thermostat
The thermostat is on the wall across from the kitchen. The screen will light up as you get close. Just turn the knob to the desired temperature. There is no air conditioning.
Fireplace
The fireplace is enclosed and runs on gas. It’s controlled by a touch screen remote on the counter to the right of the TV. There are controls for the lights, flame height and the fan. Please do not leave the fireplace running while unattended and turn it off after use.
TV
Most of the appliances are fairly straight forward. All of the TVs are “smart” TVs. Instead of boring you with details just call if you have a question. The amp has settings for indoor surround sound speakers and the back deck speakers. If you use the amp please make sure the back deck speakers are off if you aren’t using them.
Back Porch Light
The back porch light is on a motion detector similar to the front porch with some important differences. The switch is on the wall to the left as you go out the back slider. The light has some unique features controlled by the switch. To operate the light off the motion detector just leave the switch on. Expect to see the light come on at night as deer pass by the back deck! If you want the light to stay on, turn the switch off for 3-5 seconds then back on. The light will stay on. To return to motion detection, again turn the light off for 3-5 seconds and back on. To keep the light off simply turn the switch off and leave it off.
Ceiling Fans
The ceiling fans in each room are operated by switches on the wall and remote controls. The remote for the master bedroom is on the nightstand or in the drawer closest to the door. The guest bedroom remote is located on the table just inside the door. The remotes operate both the fans and lights. If they don’t work please check that the light switches are in the proper position (as labeled).
QuietCool Whole House Fan (Summer)
The fan is located in the loft and controlled by a remote on the nightstand (or in the drawer) of the master night stand. You must open a few windows while operating the fan. The fan should pull in cool air in the evenings. There is no air condioning. If you close all the windows and lower the shades on the west side of the condo (anything facing the parking lot) the condo will stay relatively cool.
Trash
Trash can be taken to the dumpster straight across the parking lot. We have a service that will clean the condo. More information is on the Check-Out page.
Washer / Dryer
The washer/dryer is at the top of the lower staircase. The washer has an automatic detergent dispenser so you do not need to add detergent to the wash. You will be notified if the level is low and it can be filled on the left side.
Transportation
Parking in town is a pain and parking during ski season at the resort is even worse. The (free) bus picks up on the corner of Racquet Club Drive and Little Kate and operates from 7:30 AM to 10:30 PM most of the year (see link). The route map & schedule is on the Park City web site. The Transit Map is at the bottom of the list. There’s even a real time tracker! For the map – try this link. We are on the Park Meadows route (#2, Green). There’s also a free trolley that runs up and down main-street that connects with the Old Town Transit Center where transfers can be made to all other routes in the system.
Interesting Notes
Utah has some very unique liquor laws. You can buy all you’re alcoholic beverages at the state liquor store. Prices are high and the beer prices are by the bottle! The closest store is across from the Market grocery store. Some beer is available at the grocery stores but not wine. You can take a bottle of wine, purchased at the state liquor store, to most local restaurants and avoid the high restaurant fees for wine. There is a label on the side of the bottle that identifies it was bought at a local store. Do not remove the label. Take the bottle to the restaurant of your choice. There may be a corkage fee that could vary from $3 to $15 dollars but it’s usually waived (don’t forget at add a little to the tip!). Good news for those who were in Park City in the past – you are no longer required to join a “club” to get into the bars. Other State Liquor stores (closed on Sunday) can be found at the Utah Department of Alcohol Beverage Control website.

Racquet Club – “MARC” (next door)
The Racquet Club, or MARC as it’s now called, is a City owned facility and the headquarters for all Park City Recreation programs in both the winter and summer. No membership is required but there are fees. The Racquet Club is also a great place to grab a newspaper and check out the brochures on local activities. The Club offers indoor tennis, aerobics classes, gym, swimming, etc. They have a great pool for the kids in the summer.
Restaurants
There are many very good restaurants in Park City. Most restaurants are casual and jeans are appropriate. There a few that you may prefer to dress up a bit. You may find some coupons in the paper during the summer (usual not in the winter, but…). Feel free to call or text for recommendations.
